Current Workshops (see printed schedule after arriving for times):

Harvest Song and Story Fire Circle Come with a story to tell and/or a song to sing, and gather with fellow folk around an open fire on a summer's night to celebrate the season of first fruit and harvest abundance! All are welcome to this after-dark fire circle to sing, tell, lead a group song, or just listen and enjoy! All family-friendly stories and songs are welcome - come tell your favorite myth, folktale, or funny personal anecdote, and share ballads, folk songs, sea shanties, pagan chants, hymns, children's songs, show tunes and more. These are the songs and stories of the Children of Earth! YOU have a song to sing, and a story to tell, so don't be shy! All singing and story-telling abilities are welcome and will be supported and encouraged. Circle facilitated by Ruby Sara...who has no desire to sing songs all night by herself in the dark (oh, she'll do it if she has to...she's not afraid, but you should be). So come on over and join in!
Essentials of Spiritual Alchemy - Mark Mandrake Although hundreds of years old, the ancient wisdom of Alchemy teaches as much as other esoteric tools such as Astrology, Tarot, or Kabbalah. Modern Alchemy is the spiritual process of transforming the "lead" of our souls into their purest form of "gold" so our lives are transformed to the highest human potential. This workshop teaches the 7 Steps of Alchemy in a modern context, and uses meditation, art, and energy work to teach accessible tools that can be used in ritual and daily practice.
Chakras, Alchemy & Spiritual Growth - Mark Mandrake The 7 Chakras have been used by many spiritual seekers to diagnosis problems in the mind, body, and spirit- forming a spectrum of consciousness ranging from survival to spirituality. Modern Alchemy is the spiritual process of transforming the "lead" of our souls into their purest form of "gold". Through ecstatic movements and trance we use both systems so that each chakra is "crucible"- a place of deep transformation and understanding- so the alchemy of the soul can occur and our lives transformed.
Raising the Sacred Fire: Building and Moving Energy in Ritual - Shauna Aura Would you like to learn how to build, move, and transform energy? Learning to facilitate effective ritual can be frustrating. This workshop offers tools to work with ecstatic energy through presentations, discussions, and hands-on practice. Experienced ritualists will learn tools to facilitate more potent rituals and discussing what works and why. New ritualists will learn foundations of ritual work. Join us to harness the fire of life-force and explore: ritual components and energetic flow, intention, strengthening presence and charisma, and engaging participation with chanting, movement, rhythm, and group connection.
Power and Pagan Leadership: The Fire of Community - Shauna Aura Pagan groups collapse from power struggles, obstinacy, powerlessness, and other imbalances. Whether you're a seasoned leader or want to build healthy community, join us for discussion and experiential exercises to learn power's mysteries. How does power move in groups? We'll explore group dynamics, empowerment, group structures affecting power, hierarchy, authority, integrity, and responsibility for impact. We'll connect to our personal power, energy, and charisma to explore empowering and power-sharing. Will stand in your power and tend the fires of sustainable community?
Aphrodisia: Love and Spellcraft - Ruby Sara n the history of magical practice, very little interests people more than love spells. Come explore some historical and contemporary spellcraft surrounding this most intruiging of subjects. We\'ll look at aphrodisiacs, beauty spells (including enchanted cosmetics), love-drawing work, sweetening spells, charms, and classic sacred texts that instruct in the art of love. We\'ll also talk a bit about the ethics of love/lust magic (including the wealth of manipulative love spells that exist both in historical literature and in contemporary practice) and the importance of the senses in creating effective love spells.
Cardamom and Clove: The Lore and Ethics of Spices - Ruby Sara Spices have enchanted humanity for eons. We may take for granted the cinnamon, cardamom and cloves in our cupboards today, but these barks, seeds and flowers come with a price and deserve a deeper level of awareness and appreciation. Come learn about these fragrant, sensual plants, their lore and uses in magical practice, and their turbulent, problematic history. We\'ll also briefly discuss the ethics of spices (as well as other exotic imports such as coffee, tea, and chocolate), and the theology of precious gratitude we might adopt in our daily lives when we indulge in these double-edged privileges of civilization.
Greek Domestic and Personal Religous Pracices- Johhn Rapture This workshop will present participants with information regarding ancient Greek domestic and personal religious practices, including devotion to Hestia, household shrines, and the making of magical talismans and tablets. Also, participants will be introduced to issues involved in Greek reconstructionism, such as how to deal with a lack of (or contradictory) source material. Finally, participants will be invited to discuss their own experiences with or interest in Greek religion, religious reconstructionism, and religious syncretism in general or in response to topics raised during the presentation.
American Tribal Style Bellydance - Melanie Moore Learn the basics with this introduction to American Tribal Style Bellydancing. You'll learn slow and fast movemnts, zills and a puja (moving meditation).
Pagan Parenting Chris and Melanie Moore, authors of The Pagan Family blog, have reared 7 children in an shamelessly Pagan family. They'll discuss rituals, festivals, day to day issues and dealing with pesky cowan.
Wire Tree Workshop - Ashley Stout Come join in a beautiful community workshop! The idea for this workshop is that everyone participating will make a branch of a wire tree and then all the branches will be combined into one large tree to be put into the raffle drawing. Easy to follow instructions! Bring a pair of gloves and needle nose pliers if you have them, and because we will be working with sharp wire, please no young children. Also will go over how you can make your own trees at home.
Giving Greater Rite: Changing Our RItuals for the Better - Sparky T Rabbit Ever spent time complainin' around the festival campfire with your friends about the bad ritual you just attended? Sure. We all have! How would you like to see better large group rituals at gatherings? Or find out how to make your own rituals more moving and effective?Come join Sparky in this workshop. He's been making and performing large group rituals since 1980. We'll discuss: Bringing Theatre into Ritual/The Dos, Don'ts, and Don't *Evers* of Ritual/and the Absolute Necessity of Ritual Feedback--among other things!
WARNING! If you already know everything there is to know about ritual, if you believe all ritual must follow the standard Wiccan model, if you get angry or defensive when someone criticizes your rituals, then THIS WORKSHOP IS ESPECIALLY FOR YOU.
The Magick of Place and Energy Perception - Nighttson How many of us run through life each day and never slow down to experience world of wonder that surrounds us and the energy that puleses in and around us each day? This will be a discussion about how to learn to slow down and actually feel the world around us both physically and with our inner being. We'll start off with a guided grounding meditation exercise and then move into learning to perceieve and feel the energy around us. For some this is second nature, others not so much, this workshop is from a beginners perspective or those that are newer to energy perception.
